6/7/2023 Announcements
1) The 2023 Southern JH/MS Biennial Reunion was held at the DoubleTree Hotel on Penn Street in Reading on Saturday May 13, 2023. It was a great success and a lot of fun for all who attended! Harry Eisenbise, president of the Southern JH/MS Alumni Association, presided over the festivities. The following 2023 Southern JH/MS Hall of Fame inductees were honored:

- Andrea Carabello (attended Southern 1973-1977)
- Christopher Nein (attended Southern 1977-1981)
- Clayton Taylor (attended Southern 1956-1960)
- Luther Ammarell (taught at Southern 1955-1977)

1) The votes have been tallied and congratulations to the following 2021 Southern JH/MS Hall of Fame inductees!
2) The 2021 Southern JH/MS Biennial Reunion was successfully held at the DoubleTree Hotel on Penn Street in Reading on October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Harry Eisenbise, the newly-elected president of the Southern JH/MS Alumni Association, presided over the festivities. Harry replaces Ted Jamula, who remains pivotal as a board officer and active member. Thank to Ted for his many years as alumni association president, as well as his continued and numerous contributions to this organization. See the Galleries page for 2021 reunion photos

Many thanks to Mr. Tom Sadowski of Lincolnville, Maine for providing this 1925 Southern JH class pin that he found among his family memorabilia. Tom located our association through this website and contacted us about his find. He believes it may have belonged to one of his parents (Joseph Sadowski and Estelle Olejarczyk) who had connections to the Reading area in the 1920's. His parents would have been 13 or 14 years old in 1925. This pin would have been from the inaugural class of Southern Junior High School. |
